Rangers

Using Horse Activities To Further The Kingdom Of God

The Rangers is the Horse Ministry of The Little Country Church.  It is open to all persons who have horses, or ride horses, or want to own and ride horses.

We have a great arena here at TLCC to ride in, and trails around the "ranch" to ride.  We are right next door to a state park that is open to horseback riding.

The pleasure of gathering to ride is only a part of the ministry.  We try to encourage our members who are active in other horse sports.  Our Pastor is active in the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association and participates in events whenever he can, as does his wife, Lori.  Mandi Hovater is well on her way to becoming a great barrel racer.  We have a member who is very involved in team roping.  Given the opportunity, there are others in our group who will find a horse sport suited to their liking.

A precision mounted drill team dubbed "The Pony Express" is being birthed within the Rangers.  This group looks to go out into the horse community and perform at events outside the church such as area rodeos, parades, etc.

It is part of our ministry to educate.  Everyone seems to be fascinated by horses.  And we know why.  They are wonderful, beautiful creatures.  We desire to teach others about the care, training, and love of the horse.  We want others to learn to ride, to enjoy the horse.  There is something about riding that is very hard to describe, but Will Rogers came close when he stated that, "The best thing for the inside of a man is the outside of a horse."

The primary focus of the Rangers is what the mission statement says. We want to use our love of "horse" to spread the Word of God and increase the Kingdom.  Jesus directs us in Mark 16: 15, Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation."  The Rangers can take the "horse interest" to the community and draw in those who need to hear the Gospel.

Prov. 21:31: "The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord." The Message says: "Do your best, prepare for the worst - then trust GOD for the victory."
